The Drifters, a trend setting R&B vocal group with 16 Top 40 Hits, began recording on Atlantic Records in 1953. First entering Billboard's top 40 charts in June of 1959 with "There goes My Baby," the song went all the way to number two, where it stayed for 14 weeks. They hit again with "Save the Last Dance for Me," a number 1 smash.
